Charles Mulford is a sculptor based in New Jersey. He holds an MFA from the School of Visual Arts and a BFA from Rutgers University, Mason Gross School of the Arts. His sculptures have been exhibited in the New Jersey State Museum, Trenton, NJ, the Attleboro Arts Museum, Attleboro, MA, the Bruton Museum, Somerset, UK, and the Monmouth Museum, Lincroft, NJ. Mulford apprenticed at the Seward Johnston Atelier, specializing in metal chasing and fabrication. His work is part of the special collection of the Vanderbilt University Library and Temple University Library.

Charles Mulford's recent sculptures delve into complex themes of love, violence, and illness, utilizing computer modeling and 3D printing techniques. Mulford creates unsettling scenes by merging cartoon figures with intricately modeled forms and scanned human heads. In narratives rich with stress and vulnerability, exaggerated characters engage in theatrical performances, which can carry a humorous undertone despite the serious subjects they address. The interplay of light and dark makes these challenging topics more accessible to viewers. Mulford's sculptures serve as a platform for open dialogue, inviting audiences to approach these subjects with empathy and understanding.
